Home Networking

A digital home has multiple video-enabled consumer devices connected through a home network. Various network technologies are used for home networking, including Wi-Fi, coaxial cable, powerline and Ethernet.

Inside the digital home, a Home Gateway acts as the hub to connect the home network with the transmission network. It receives video content from the transmission network and performs secure bridging from Conax content protection into the security domain used inside the home network, acting as a server for sharing of content between the various devices.

Conax has developed a DRM bridging system that controls secure transfer of content from the broadcaster all the way through to the consumer device. Conax Contego™ supports bridging to the most important security domains, such as:
